Looking for Text Online?

Here is a good place to start. If you are choosing one of the writing prompts that requires you to read another play, you might find that play online at this site:

Homework for the Holiday Weekend!

Class,

I left out one thing from the homework assignments that I meant to mention in class. It involves commenting on the blog. Here is the homework:

  • Read Lines 1-706 in your World Lit. textbook
  • Write a summary of 300 words on Lines 338-706 and turn in on Monday (DO NOT POST THIS ON THE BLOG)
  • Comment on at least 3 of your classmates' fables on their blogs
Here is a link to the play online, if you'd like to read it online, but notice that the lines aren't numbered: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/31/31-h/31-h.htm

Please email me if you have ANY questions. My email (as always) is michaelstevens82@gmail.com

Have a great weekend!

Creative Writing: Fable

Write a fable that illustrates one of the following morals or a moral of your own choice:

  • If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
  • Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
  • All that glitters is not gold.
In your fable, dramatize the moral through dialogue and the interaction of animal characters. Keep you fable brief, and try to make it entertaining. DO NOT STATE THE MORAL IN YOUR FABLE POST.

This is due for class on Thursday, August 26th.
